Am I using lotion wrong

Our take

Hey there! It sounds like you’re diving headfirst into the world of skincare, and that’s awesome! Using lotion for the first time can feel a bit chaotic, especially when you’re trying to figure out the right amount. It’s not uncommon to use more than you think, especially if your skin is thirsty after a shower. However, if you’re going through half a bottle in one go, you might want to adjust your approach.

Hey, I’m new to skincare and honestly haven’t really used lotion before, maybe just tried some at Bath & Body Works or used my mom’s when I was little. I recently got a girlfriend and wanted to start taking better care of my skin, so this is my first time actually using lotion.

I just got out of the shower, so my skin was still damp and the room wasn’t dry because of the steam. But I ended up using almost half the bottle on my body. Is that normal, or am I doing something wrong? I feel like it should only take a small amount, but I kept needing more and it seemed to dry quickly. So I know I didn't use too much.

For reference, I’m about 6'2", 220 lbs, lean build. Any advice or tips would help.

It was a 2.5oz bottle of lotion and I used more then half
