At home gel nails
Our take
Have you ever tried your hand at doing gel nails at home, only to be disappointed when they start peeling or breaking within days? You're not alone! Many of us have ventured into the world of DIY gel nails to save some cash, but the struggle to achieve long-lasting results is real. Is it the quality of the gel polishes we're using, or is it all about technique?
I've been dabbling more with doing my own gel nails at home to save costs, but I keep finding that my gel nails don't last very long. usually they start to peel or break off in a matter of days.
I wondered if this was just cause the gel polishes I'm buying aren't great or if it's a technique thing?

- Nail helpHi! My gel nails have not been lasting long at all recently. They last max 1.5 or two weeks. Is this normal, and what can I do to make them last longer? - Advice / questionHey! So I’ve been getting my nails done with builder gel for about 2 years. I started because I wanted to grow my natural nails long while keeping them sturdy and still having cute designs. I enjoy going and getting them done and I like my nail lady. She does such a good job hand painting everything…. But lately I’ve noticed my nails breaking often and more specifically the paint and gel is lifting up and peeling off ??? I do use cuticle oil but definitely not as often as I should (maybe once a day or every other day, sometimes longer) and I work in healthcare so I am washing and sanitizing my hands a lot throughout work. Is it just wear and tear ? Could I do something? Any advice or guidance here please, thank you!! submitted by /u/Tight-Honeydew-4169 [link] [comments]
