Attention please help me out , what should I do Skincare
Our take
26M here.
Earlier, I used to keep things super simple just a Cetaphil cleanser and coconut oil on my face. I never got a single pimple, no blackheads, nothing. I didn’t even use sunscreen, and my skin was always crystal clear.
Over the last year, life got hectic. I moved to a new place, got busy with work and travel, and stopped using coconut oil. Instead, I started a proper skincare routine all Cetaphil products: cleanser, toner, serum, and that radiance cream (round box one).
Also i never take hot showers, always use cold showers but in new place i started using hot showers which was worst mistake .
That’s when things started going wrong. I began getting pimples and acne. They come and go but never fully clear up.
I then thought maybe I was overdoing it with heavy products. So I stopped the toner first, and after a few weeks, I also stopped the radiance cream since it felt too heavy for my skin.
Right now, I’m only using Cetaphil cleanser and Cetaphil serum.
But I’m honestly very confused and even a bit scared to try anything new. My skin is combination and very sensitive.
is my skin barrier broken ? should i visit dermat ? should i stop serum too ?? and only use cleanser ?
Would really appreciate advice from people who’ve gone through something similar or know what might be happening. What should I use or avoid?

- product reco for skincare 1st timerhi i’m a 25 yo girl (yes, that old) and i only wash my face every night with water (with little to no shame). the reason for this is… i tried face soap when i was young and i got PIMPLES. when i don’t wash it with soap i had no pimple at all!! it only pops up once a month before menstruation. my friends for the past years would always say just suncscreen, cleanse etc… and i’m so reluctant because it’s so convenient (that i don’t have to put extra mins at night) and i saw a post once that says don’t fix what’s not broken haha. & i know the dirt in my face alr accumulated!! and i can’t risk weeks of my face having break outs (there’s a lot of events to go to 😭) lately, i have maybe just a lil bit of budget to spend for self care! and my first thought was i can see my fucking pores on my selfies n i just know they r asking for help. but i think i have fragile skin, i have psoriasis, i have kp bumps on my arms n thighs that i gave up on. i just really want a cleanse - moisturize - sunscreen combo that WON’T make me break out because if pimples pop up i’d panic and stop it all ot once. just wondering what products to use (preferably something i can grab on cvs) thank you! submitted by /u/watersigned [link] [comments]
- Completely lost with skincare and don’t know where to startHi everyone, I’m completely lost with skincare and I don’t really know where to start. Right now I use a serum from The Ordinary (niacinamide + zinc) and a CeraVe moisturizer, but honestly I feel like they’re not doing much for me. I have a lot of little red marks spots on my face, and I also think I might have something similar to rosacea because my skin gets red and sensitive (specially after a hot shower or temperature changes) but I’ve never had it checked so I don’t want to self-diagnose. My skin also feels really dry and flaky. The weird thing is that the more I moisturize, the more it feels like my skin depends on it. If I forget moisturizer for even one day, my face starts peeling a lot. I don’t know if my skin barrier is damaged, if I’m using the wrong products, or if I’m just missing something obvious. I really love the Korean glass skin look, but I have no idea how people actually get there, especially with dry/sensitive skin. I don’t want to buy a million random products, so I’d love help building a very simple beginner routine and knowing what ingredients or products I should look for or avoid. Thanks so much in advance. I’m genuinely starting from zero here, so any simple advice would be really helpful. submitted by /u/Valuable_Air_1747 [link] [comments]
- 25 and my skin looks ROUGH, help!!Hi! I am a 25F with skin that shouldn't look as bad as it does. Wrinkles on my forehead, lots of texture, and dark spots from acne. My skin is hard to read in terms of oily vs dry but it is acne prone and definitely can get dry at times and oily at other times. Right now, this has been my night routine for a few months. It hasn't been great in eliminating lines, spots or texture but my skin has felt more hydrated. - Round lab foam cleanser - Anua peach toner - Prescription tret - Cetaphil daily moisturizing lotion for dry sensitive skin I am ashamed to admit it but in the morning I usually just throw on SPF 50 and call it good. I have been doing some research but I am getting kinda overwhelmed with all the info I am getting. Would these be better routines to match my needs? Do any of these products interact? Night: - Ma:nyo pure cleansing oil - Vanicream cleanser - Byoma milky toner - Prescription tret/The Ordinary Azelaic acid suspension 10% cream, alternating every other day - Avene Cicalfate protective cream Morning: - Vanicream cleanser - Byoma milky toner - SPF moisturizer submitted by /u/ranch518 [link] [comments]
- Skincare beginner picks? Anyone who didn’t really do basic skincare before?I used to never really use toner or lotion, you know? My skin was naturally oily, so I hated anything that felt greasy and didn’t want to put on heavy products. But now… I guess I’m getting older. Right after washing my face, or even just sitting and working during the day, I can actually feel my skin getting dry and kind of stinging?! So I panicked a bit, searched for something new for sensitive skin, bought it, and started using it. I think it’s finally getting a bit better now. When I was younger, I didn’t need any skincare and my skin was totally fine so I don’t know why it’s suddenly become this dry. Am I the only one who’s been kind of clueless about skincare? Anyone else who didn’t use anything even into their 30s? Also, I’d love recommendations on what else I should add. submitted by /u/Every-Bus-5858 [link] [comments]
