Concealer turns gray after powder why??
Our take
Ever applied your concealer only to watch it transform from flawless to gray the moment you add powder? You're not alone! Many have experienced the frustrating phenomenon where a bright, smooth concealer like Estée Lauder's Double Wear (2N) turns dull and ashy after setting. Despite experimenting with different powders—like Laura Mercier and Huda Beauty—some still face the same disappointing transformation. If you're struggling to maintain that radiant look without the gray cast, let's dive into the potential culprits and solutions for this beauty conundrum.
My concealer looks PERFECT before setting (bright, smooth, right shade). The second I apply loose powder, it turns gray/ashy and loses all brightness.
I’ve tried everything:
more powder = cakey + gray
less powder = less cakey but STILL gray
different powders: Laura Mercier (Rose), Huda Beauty (Banana)
Same result every time.
➡️ before powder = flawless
➡️ after powder = gray, dull
Using Estée Lauder Double Wear concealer (2N), slightly dark + dry under-eyes.
Anyone know how to fix this
