Easiest to use self-tanning products to bring on a 3 week trip?
Our take
I am looking for product recommendations for self tanning products to bring with me on a 3 week trip. I’m on the paler side and at home, I get a spray tan in a machine about once a week. I usually do light, sometimes medium in the summer. For my trip, I’m looking for products that are easy to integrate into my routine and don’t require a ton of extra/time effort. Also a huge plus if it doesn’t have a long lasting fake tan smell. I shower in the morning, so would be open to something I put on at night and rinse off in the morning or something that’s just part of my morning shower routine. I am thinking I want more of a gradual tan lotion or drops I can add to my regular moisturizer. Looking for face and body products and open to getting a different product for each - mainly looking for easiest to use. I’m not very experienced in applying self tanning products so want something more forgiving/easier to evenly apply. Based on that, I know it probably won’t be as tan as some other products like mousses which I’m fine with.
Any suggestions and recommendations are appreciated!

- [ M 39 ] Looking for a good self tanner or something elseHello, M, 39, pretty pale skin here. I’m looking for a simple way to get a healthier, natural-looking tan / glow. I wear SPF50 every day as part of my anti-aging/skincare routine, so I’m not looking to tan in the sun. I’ve used self-tanners in the past, and I’m wondering if there are any real game changers in 2026. I’ve also already tried carotenoid tanning capsules/supplements, with basically no visible effect. What works best these days: mousse, lotion, spray, drops mixed into moisturizer, gradual tanners, or something else? My priorities are: natural bronzed look noticeable result, but still balanced and realistic no orange tone even fade no patchiness or streaks easy application decent longevity Also, are there any tinted moisturizers or bronzing fluids that give a healthy sun-kissed tone instantly, but without looking like makeup or staining clothes? Would love product recommendations, routines, or application tips. Thanks! submitted by /u/Solid-Natural935 [link] [comments]
- Opinions/tips on the dove gradual tanning lotion?I recently bought the light to medium version of it for a trip i have in a week and im wondering how far in advance i should start using it or if its even good at all. So far i did a small patch test and it looks basically the same (im super pale for reference), im guessing i just need to apply more product? Also, how long does it usually last? my trip is 5 days long submitted by /u/InspectionBoth5201 [link] [comments]
- Best self tannerI'm looking to see if anyone has any suggestions for the best self tanner for vacations. I use bondi sands regularly but I'm willing to spend a little extra on something that will hopefully last better for beach days/sweating/swimming etc. Thanks! 😊 submitted by /u/catmomma247 [link] [comments]
- Any Face Self-Tanner Recommendations?I’m Latina so I tan fairly easily 😅 I returned from a sunny vacation and now my face is drastically more fair than my body. I don’t wear foundation everyday so I’m looking for some kind of tanner that lasts anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks. Does anyone have any holy grail self-tanners that they love for the face? Just no St. Tropez please because I’ve developed a rash from their body tanner in the most past 🥲 submitted by /u/mariberrie [link] [comments]
