Embracing my natural lashes after 2 years of clusters lashes. Is it worth it?
Our take
I started wearing lash clusters back in 2024 and hadn’t ever taken longer than a week break until today. They made me feel so extremely pretty and whenever I would even take a one to two day break I noticed I would constantly tear myself down and find myself rushing to put them back on. I recently noticed this past weekend that when I had them off for three full days I felt absolutely disgusting and realized that me wearing lash clusters was not only a way to feel pretty but a constant assurance towards my self esteem and appearance. I want to embrace my natural lashes and beauty and not be so insecure when having a day off from clusters that i ultimately decided I shouldn’t wear them anymore. I also noticed that my eyes started to itch so bad these past few months with a lot of redness and I took that as a sign to leave lash clusters in the past. Plus I have severe allergies that make my eyes really itchy everyday. I want to start growing my lashes out with a lash serum and wearing mascara after I give my eyelashes a much needed break lol. Is it worth switching from clusters to normal lashes? And am I crazy for having this big of a breakdown over something I would consider to not be a big deal? Also if you guys have any suggestions for growth, mascara for straight eyelashes, or tips in general regrading my eyelashes that desperately need a break it would be much appreciated!

- Got lash extensions and fell in love…. After reading on here, I don’t want to continue anymore. Am I making the right decision? So I’d been wanting to try lash extensions for a while. I finally decided to when the lash place near me was having a 50% off special. I got the classic set and I felt soooo beautiful. HOWEVER; I was told they would last me 2-3 weeks. I’m at day 9 and they’re already starting to look bad. As in, falling out, going in different directions, and getting way too curly. I don’t pick at them, I sleep on my back, I don’t rub my eyes. I’ve been very careful with them. PROS: I wake up and feel SO pretty. I can leave the house to run errands and don’t have to worry about how I look even when I’m dressed in errand clothes and my hair is in a bun. I work in healthcare, I wear a mask 30-70% of the day, scrubs, and my hair up. It’s nice to have my lashes done because I can’t necessarily wear other makeup besides mascara (which will end up underneath my eyes at the end of my 10 hour day) It’s approaching summer time, it’ll be nice to not have to worry about my makeup running when I’m outside doing any sort of activity. I could just throw on sunscreen and call it a day. CONS: I can’t do other eye makeup 😭 on weekends I’m an avid liquid eyeliner wearer. I love a big wing. THE COST. It’ll cost about $100 every TWO weeks. That’s $200 a month just on lashes!? My electricity bill isn’t even that much. Damage- I’ve read on here that lash extensions caused major damage to others Am I right in thinking that I should stop?? I have 2 fill appointments booked for this month… I was fully committed to being a lash extension girly but now I don’t know if I can justify it. Does anyone have some realistic alternatives I could look into?? I don’t know a thing about cluster lashes but I might be willing to look into it if it seems realistic submitted by /u/Wrong_Gate_543 [link] [comments]
- has anyone successfully made their lashes thicker/longer?Hi, i have naturally downturned, straight, short, thin lashes… i use to get a lash lift but it honestly never did much…. i tried lash extensions years ago and didn’t know there was different kinds aka clusters vs singles.. i had clusters they were WAY to heavy for my eyes and completely ruined my lashes when i asked them to remove them after 2 weeks instead of doing a refill… my lashes “grew back” as in they were still the short straight lashes i knew. I’ve tried grande lash but it was making my eyes red so i stopped before i could see results. My friend uses this tho and her lashes grew soooo long and pretty! I’m just worried because i have binocular vision dysfunction and I don’t know if it would mess with that! Recently in the past month i’ve gone back for extensions after YEARS of trying random serums from walmart.. or even a castor oil recommendation from my esthetician. nothing has done ANYTHING i’ve gotten my single lash extensions refilled once so far… but tbh it’s not even the money that’s the issue it’s more so time consuming and how often they get sparse!! sitting in a chair with my eyes closed for almost 3 hours every 2 weeks for $70. I’m also very worried about my nature lashes being completely ruined. I follow the care instructions but i can’t help but wish my natural lashes were thick and long!! before the extensions i have now i can curl them good with a curler as they are and add water proof mascara but they still just look stubby!! any recommendations? submitted by /u/MysticForestCat [link] [comments]
