Eyelash extensions panic
Our take
Oh no, eyelash extension panic is real! You’re not alone—many of us have had that heart-stopping moment of realizing we’ve inadvertently messed with our natural lashes. After enjoying those fabulous extensions, it’s easy to forget they're there. The good news? Your lashes are resilient and will likely grow back in time, especially with a little TLC like castor oil and vitamins. Let’s take a deep breath together! You’re not doomed to eternal lash-less-ness, and this experience can definitely serve as a lesson learned.
So… I (F53) got lash extensions 18 days ago, for a vacation. Not my first time (did it in 2019 and 2023, just one application each time). Vacation is over and, a couple of days ago, I forgot I still had the extensions, rubbed my eyelids with a washcloth in the shower, and inadvertently pulled out a very small section of my natural lashes. I’m in full on panic mode. Will they grow back? I’ve been obsessively googling and I’ve already purchased castor oil and hair/nail vitamins. I will never get extensions again! Please talk me off the ledge of despair. Many thanks in advance

- i need my lash extensions off!!i got my eyelash extensions done about a month ago, they’ve held up a lot better than i thought they would and i still have quite a few on, the amount i have on though isn’t quite enough for them to actually look full so when i have makeup on i end up looking like i have no eyelashes. i have a lash minute important event tonight where i really need to look my best and for the past couple days ive been scrambling trying to find an esthetician who can take me for a removal but everyone is closed or fully booked. i’ve tried steaming my lashes, olive & coconut oil, pulling them out myself, everything. im starting to wonder if it’s worth it to just curl them and put mascara over top but i really don’t want to damage my natural lashes. what do i do?? submitted by /u/Global_Shop_6736 [link] [comments]
- Eyelashes have not returned, it’s been 3 years! One thing I always liked about myself no matter what were my eyelashes, they were so naturally long and curly. I was pregnant and going on holidays with my toddler, and my friend recommended eyelash extensions. Said it would look like I was wearing makeup when I wouldn’t have time to do it. They were gorgeous, but I got conjunctivitis the next day probably from my toddler and then didn’t realise how annoying they would be when they were growing out. I wasn’t given any aftercare instructions so without realising I shouldn’t, I pulled them off as the extensions grew out and loosened. I ended up with shorter natural lashes after this but thought would be fine as they’d grow back. But it’s been 3 years now and they have still not returned to their former glory. Does anyone know why they wouldn’t grow back to their former length? And does anyone know how I can get them to grow back to their former long length?? Please help :( submitted by /u/Specialist_Door_7965 [link] [comments]
- Lash cluster help! How do I ween off of eyelash extensions?Hi guys! I use lash clusters daily. Naturally, I have thick and long eyelashes, though after consistent use of clusters, they’ve become sparse and don’t look the same. I know lash clusters aren’t great for your eyelash health, and, because of this, I want to completely cease the use of them. I am twenty, so I want to do my best to be proactive and start the journey of restrengthening my natural lashes before it becomes something out of my control. Even if I can’t get them to where they were before, I still want to have their health in my best interest. The issue is, I’ve spent about a year basing my confidence on them. So, HOW do I do this? I get so self conscious without them, how can I get used to myself without them again? Also, should I ONLY use an eyelash serum? Thank you all in advance. Any advice is sincerely appreciated ❤️ submitted by /u/starlightbabyy [link] [comments]
- has anyone successfully made their lashes thicker/longer?Hi, i have naturally downturned, straight, short, thin lashes… i use to get a lash lift but it honestly never did much…. i tried lash extensions years ago and didn’t know there was different kinds aka clusters vs singles.. i had clusters they were WAY to heavy for my eyes and completely ruined my lashes when i asked them to remove them after 2 weeks instead of doing a refill… my lashes “grew back” as in they were still the short straight lashes i knew. I’ve tried grande lash but it was making my eyes red so i stopped before i could see results. My friend uses this tho and her lashes grew soooo long and pretty! I’m just worried because i have binocular vision dysfunction and I don’t know if it would mess with that! Recently in the past month i’ve gone back for extensions after YEARS of trying random serums from walmart.. or even a castor oil recommendation from my esthetician. nothing has done ANYTHING i’ve gotten my single lash extensions refilled once so far… but tbh it’s not even the money that’s the issue it’s more so time consuming and how often they get sparse!! sitting in a chair with my eyes closed for almost 3 hours every 2 weeks for $70. I’m also very worried about my nature lashes being completely ruined. I follow the care instructions but i can’t help but wish my natural lashes were thick and long!! before the extensions i have now i can curl them good with a curler as they are and add water proof mascara but they still just look stubby!! any recommendations? submitted by /u/MysticForestCat [link] [comments]
