Looking for feedback from fellow makeup lovers on a beauty tool I've been building

Our take

Hey beauty lovers! I'm thrilled to introduce Lookclub, a platform designed to streamline how you style, discover, and organize your fashion and beauty products. We all know shopping can get messy, especially when trying to remember what we own versus what we want. Lookclub aims to change that by allowing you to save beauty items from multiple retailers, discover new brands, and keep your products organized. I’d love your honest feedback! What are your biggest frustrations when shopping for makeup and skincare?

The beauty community is no stranger to chaos—whether it’s a meme. A legacy. An unopinionated gent making memes in all the wrong places.. or someone figuring out press-on nails at 2 a.m., we’ve all been there. But what if there was a way to tame the beauty battlefield? Enter Lookclub, a platform built for those who live and breathe beauty but are tired of the endless scroll, the forgotten products, and the “I swear I own this” moments. It’s like giving your vanity a brain—and maybe a sense of humor.

Lookclub isn’t just another beauty app; it’s a love letter to the organized chaos that is modern beauty culture. By letting users save beauty items across multiple retailers in one place, discovering alternatives, and organizing routines, it’s essentially the glamorous version of a mood board—but for your skincare and makeup stash. And let’s be real: the frustration of shopping for beauty products is real. Whether it’s dry shaving with a dull razor or trying to remember if you actually own that perfect red lipstick, Lookclub promises to be your personal beauty whisperer. The idea is refreshing, especially in a world where our products are scattered across websites, stores, and the back of our bathroom cabinets.

What makes this platform genuinely exciting is its potential to democratize beauty discovery. Instead of drowning in endless product recommendations, users can build a curated library of favorites, track shades, and even share recommendations with friends. It’s empowerment through organization—and let’s face it, empowerment is always in style. The question on everyone’s mind, though, is whether beauty enthusiasts will actually adopt yet another app. The market is saturated, and attention spans are shorter than a TikTok clip. But Lookclub’s focus on practicality and relatability might just be the edge it needs. After all, who doesn’t want to stop asking, “Do I own this?” and start asking, “How did I live without this?”

The platform’s early-stage status means it’s ripe for community input, and that’s where the real magic could happen. By listening to users’ pain points—like the struggle to find dupes for discontinued products or the chaos of managing multiple routines—Lookclub could evolve into something truly indispensable. The beauty world needs tools that understand its quirks, its chaos, and its unapologetic love for a good glow-up. Whether it becomes the next big thing or just a neat experiment, it’s definitely worth keeping an eye on. After all, in the words of Haley Kalil, confidence is always in style—and so is a little help from your friends, even if those friends are digital platforms.

Hey everyone, I've been working on a platform called Lookclub focused on making it easier to style, discover, and organise your fashion, beauty, hair care and skincare products.

Shopping in-store and online can feel pretty disjointed and messy at times. Especially when remembering what makeup items you own vs the items you want to buy. I find it hard to keep track of all products I genuinely like and would suggest to others.

The idea of the platform is to help with things like:

  • Saving beauty items across multiple retailers in one place
  • Discovering alternative makeup products and brands
  • Organising your items, shades, routines, and recommendations

It's still super early and I'm mainly looking for honest feedback from people as I keep building.

Would love to know:

  • Is this something you'd use?
  • Is there anything you wish existed that currently doesn’t?
  • What's your biggest frustration when shopping for makeup, skincare and hair care?
