So called ‘summer uglies’ help! Anyone else? Need a little rant cos I feel rubbish

Our take

Summer is here, and while the world around us bursts with sunshine and blooming flowers, some of us are navigating the not-so-glamorous side of the season. Enter the dreaded ‘summer uglies’—frizzy hair that resembles permanent bedhead, a dehydrated yet oily complexion, and pesky breakouts that seem to thrive in the heat. It’s tough when it feels like everyone else is glowing while you’re battling irritation from sunscreens that just don’t play nice.

We’ve all heard of the ‘winter uglies’ but I kinda have the reverse problem

It’s getting to Summer weather where I live now- there’s glorious sunshine, birdsong, flowers blooming and it’s lush and green. Beautiful. But I’ve never felt less beautiful.

My hair is frizzy and breaking and the extra humidity and warmth is making it look like I have permanent Bedhead. My skin looks dreadful- dehydrated, flaky in patches but an oily t-zone, I’ve started getting big spots, turning bright pink when I step outside, every single sunscreen seems to break me out or irritate my eyes ( I’m not putting it on my eye area but my eyes just sting, water and go red and I have to wash it off).

It feels like other women around me are starting to look super glowy and radiant - howwww are y’all doing it?
