Tubing mascara tips for straight lashes?

Our take

Tubing mascara can be a game-changer for achieving long, defined lashes, but for those with straight lashes, it can present unique challenges. Many enthusiasts rave about its smudge-proof formula, yet users like you may find it feels heavy or wet, weighing down your hard-earned curl. If you've tried the Tarte Tartelette and Thrive Causemetics formulas, it’s understandable to wonder if there's a technique you’re missing.

I reallyyyyyy want to like tubing mascara but am having difficulty and am wondering if it’s user error since I know a lot of people love it. My wedding MUA recommended the Tarte tartelette one and I used the Thrive Causemetics years ago with the same issues.

I have generally straight lashes and use a Shiseido curler beforehand but as soon as I put on the tubing mascara it feels super wet and almost weighs down my lashes. If I try to curl after it just smears everywhere. Is there a technique I might be missing to avoid this? Or maybe I’m just not a good candidate for this type?

Thanks so much💋
