Why do my legs look like this after waxing?
Our take
If you've been sugar waxing your legs at home, you might notice some redness and bumps post-session, leaving you wondering why your skin reacts this way. While it's great that you don’t feel any pain during the process, those red spots can be a common side effect of waxing. Many people experience this, especially if they're using the soft ball method without strips. If you're curious about what might be causing this irritation or looking for tips to minimize it, you’re not alone!

| I’ve been sugar waxing at home for years, but my legs have progressively been getting redder and redder after a session. I’m not sure why- I don’t feel any pain or anything at all while I wax, but after I rinse my legs I see all the red bumps. I just put lotion on, and this’ll be gone by tomorrow morning, but I was curious if anyone else has experienced this, or knows what I’m doing wrong? I use the soft ball method, I don’t use strips. - Horrid influx of ingrown hair post waxinghi! f18 here, just like the title says, i got waxed after around 4/5 ish months last month, and my previous waxing exp was also really bad- led to bumpy hair in my calves area, and ingorwn hair in my inner thighs, but this time it was actually SO bad, i have bumpy hair growing all over my legs and my inner thighs now have spots from previous ingrown hair and more just seem to keep coming, in my arms theres nothing wrong but i also have 2 hairs coming from one area in y legs and pits. This has absolutely broken any sense of comfort i had in my body i feel so disgusting and ugly, but i dont know how to get rid of them, theres no set 'cleansing routine' i follow pre and post waxing because ever since i started, which was like 3rd grade, this has never happened. is it my doing? am i going to the wrong waxing people? should i try epillating instead? (i do it for my face usually), or shaving? (never tried thinking hair would come out rough. i could really use any advice on how i can get rid of these spots, ingrown and bumpy hair, and the 2 hair in one sithc, please. submitted by /u/curiouscaterpillar44 [link] [comments]
- Advise on hair removalI never had a problem with shaving my legs but it’s been an issue for more than a year now & it irritates my skin after I shave. I have tried exfoliation (with gloves & chemically) moisturizing, men razors, regular women razors, and single blade razors. And different types of shaving cream. I get super itchy and irritated . Should I just take the loss and just wax now? submitted by /u/Other_Resolve9026 [link] [comments]
- Red bumps on legsEver since I started shaving I started getting these dots on my legs that are under the surface of the skin (?) but when I run my hands over my legs I feel bumps. The bumps aren't always where it red marks are. I've seen mixed comments saying it's strawberry legs and some saying it's ingrown hairs. It doesn't really appear on camera but I see it prominently irl maybe because I'm more self conscious about it. Is there a way to remove them? Regardless of whether it's strawberry legs or ingrown hairs. submitted by /u/dot0rii [link] [comments]
