Lufthansa strikes reimbursement
Hi everyone,
I have a question regarding the reimbursement of the costs due to the Lufthansa strikes this week. I'm a little bit worried what is covered by Lufthansa in this case.
Originally, we were supposed to fly MAN - FRA on Monday the 13th...since the strikes started on Monday, they of course cancelled our flight, and we got rebooked for the 15th April 6AM. Due to an early flight we decided to stay at an airport hotel, but unfortunately the flight on the 15 got canceled too!!! The next rebooking was for 17th April... Once again at 6AM...Since me and my spouse had our work laptops with us and could work as normal, for convenience purposes we just stayed at the same hotel for another 2 nights.... As if it wasn't enough, that flight also got canceled and now we're rebooked for 18 April...check in is done as well so I feel pretty safe this time we'll be able to fly back home. So with 3 cancelations in a row and approx 900£ hotel costs, I feel stupid for trusting them with rebooking and not just flying with another airline.... What are the chances of getting all of that back from Lufthansa?? Are we gonna get the meals reimbursed as well?? They're not very specific on their website about any daily limits per person for such cases.... I did read about the right to care, but it just says spending "within reason" does anyone have any ideas what that means???
P. S this is for 2 people.
Thanks in advance for any shared experiences/tips!
