Your experience/advice publishing and distributing a photography e-book?

Hey,

I’m curious if anyone has any experience/advice about publishing/distributing a photography e-book, made either free or for purchase? I’m particularly curious about where/how you recommend distributing it, apart from your own website?

I have some experience self-publishing non-fiction books (mainly text) and distributing via Amazon and aggregators like Draft2Digital. However, it seems a photo-rich e-book (like a monograph or whatever) could be harder/cost prohibitive to distribute, given their large file size and many book platforms not supporting PDF file uploads.

My rough plan at the moment is to upload my free photo e-book to Internet Archive’s Open Library, along with Issuu and Yumpu (and others like it)... and hopefully funnel readers to sign up to a newsletter and download other e-books hosted on Gumroad or Payhip (a mixture of free, paid, and pay-what-you-feel).

Any input would be much appreciated!

Thank you
