At home IPL reccomandations
Our take
I’m considering purchasing an at home IPL machine but am a little skeptical and the price point is quite high so I’m looking for any recommendations and just general reviews before I purchase.
I’ve never had any sort of laser hair removal done but see it as my last resort. My bikini line and armpits especially have given me a number of issues for all other types of hair removal I have tried (shaving, waxing, sugaring, nair, trimming) Ingrowns, razor bumps, really all the issues despite investing time into skin and hair care exfoliating often and using things like glycolic acid. I am pretty insecure about my bikini line when I go swimming, and need a new solution to prevent these issues, as well as scarring.
I would say my hair is pretty coarse and it grows back quite quickly. I have pretty fair skin that tans but very dark hair so I dont think that would be an issue.
I’m looking for balance between a relatively affordable option, but also a machine that will produce good results. I’m not very worried about pain or how large of a space the area can treat at once, but am looking for results and as little hair as possible.
If anyone could share their recommendations and experience that would be great!

- Which IPL device Works Best?I have medium-dark skin (maybe slightly lighter than a paper bag) and coarse black hair. Trying to decide between Ulike Air 10 (is there any difference between the 10 and the 4?)and braun 5. I've heard Silk'n is a great option for darker skin but it's not in my price range. I'm trying to target bikini/pubic hair the most because I despise shaving it. Also targeting my thighs because the area has an egregious amount of ingrowns I can't get rid of. I want to be smooth enough to be mistaken for a dolphin on a warm summer's eve. I'm scared of hyperpigmentation, also I do not care about how often I have to do it, whatever is fastest.
