Concealer without foundation

Our take

Are you ready to embrace the beauty of a makeup routine that prioritizes effortless glamour? Once a full-face devotee, I’ve transitioned to a lighter look, favoring mascara, bronzer, blush, and, of course, concealer. My go-to is the NYX Bare With Me Serum Concealer, but using it without foundation has left me feeling a bit patchy, especially on my cheeks. I recently switched sponges, hoping for improvement, but still need tips or alternatives.

Years ago, I was wearing a full face of makeup. For foundation, I used the extremely high coverage Estee Lauder doublewear foundation.

But since a couple years I quit wearing as much makeup.

On a daily basis, my routine consists of mascara, powder, bronzer, blush and concealer which I blend from my undereyes outward.

I don't like using foundation, as it always looks a bit cakey/patchy, or I 'd have to cake it on.

I'm using the NYX bare with me serum concealer. I love it, however using concealer without foundation looks a bit patchy. Especially on my cheeks.

I used to blend the concealer using a Real Techniques sponge, but recently switched to the real techniques airblend sponge, hoping that would be better. But it doesnt.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to use the concealer, preferably without foundation, or a different concealer that I can use without foundation?

If not, what are some good, lightweight foundations that are easy to blend and looks natural?

My skin is dryer in the mornings but gets very oily throughout the day, resulting in buildup of concealer (and foundation)

Thanks in advance!!
