Self Tanner Question
Our take
Hi everyone!
I’m looking for recommendations for a self tanner that is user friendly especially for beginners, can be applied pretty seamlessly, and fits my needs.
I’m in my early 30s and have never tried self tanner except for Jergens Natural Glow when I was younger. My body has changed a lot the last few years since going through cancer treatment so I’m trying to find little ways to get some confidence back, and thought this might be a good place to start!
I’m looking for an easy to apply self tanner ultimately. Particularly, one that might last a bit more when sweating as I workout about 6 days a week.
I’m naturally very pale so am not looking for anything super dark but just a nice subtle glow!
Also, how long does self tanner generally last? If I apply before a 1 week camping trip, would it likely stay or need touched up while gone?
Any advice or suggestions would be great!
Thanks!

- [ M 39 ] Looking for a good self tanner or something elseHello, M, 39, pretty pale skin here. I’m looking for a simple way to get a healthier, natural-looking tan / glow. I wear SPF50 every day as part of my anti-aging/skincare routine, so I’m not looking to tan in the sun. I’ve used self-tanners in the past, and I’m wondering if there are any real game changers in 2026. I’ve also already tried carotenoid tanning capsules/supplements, with basically no visible effect. What works best these days: mousse, lotion, spray, drops mixed into moisturizer, gradual tanners, or something else? My priorities are: natural bronzed look noticeable result, but still balanced and realistic no orange tone even fade no patchiness or streaks easy application decent longevity Also, are there any tinted moisturizers or bronzing fluids that give a healthy sun-kissed tone instantly, but without looking like makeup or staining clothes? Would love product recommendations, routines, or application tips. Thanks! submitted by /u/Solid-Natural935 [link] [comments]
- Easiest to use self-tanning products to bring on a 3 week trip?I am looking for product recommendations for self tanning products to bring with me on a 3 week trip. I’m on the paler side and at home, I get a spray tan in a machine about once a week. I usually do light, sometimes medium in the summer. For my trip, I’m looking for products that are easy to integrate into my routine and don’t require a ton of extra/time effort. Also a huge plus if it doesn’t have a long lasting fake tan smell. I shower in the morning, so would be open to something I put on at night and rinse off in the morning or something that’s just part of my morning shower routine. I am thinking I want more of a gradual tan lotion or drops I can add to my regular moisturizer. Looking for face and body products and open to getting a different product for each - mainly looking for easiest to use. I’m not very experienced in applying self tanning products so want something more forgiving/easier to evenly apply. Based on that, I know it probably won’t be as tan as some other products like mousses which I’m fine with. Any suggestions and recommendations are appreciated! submitted by /u/elephant05 [link] [comments]
- Any Face Self-Tanner Recommendations?I’m Latina so I tan fairly easily 😅 I returned from a sunny vacation and now my face is drastically more fair than my body. I don’t wear foundation everyday so I’m looking for some kind of tanner that lasts anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks. Does anyone have any holy grail self-tanners that they love for the face? Just no St. Tropez please because I’ve developed a rash from their body tanner in the most past 🥲 submitted by /u/mariberrie [link] [comments]
- Tanning AdviceHi everyone! In June, I’m planning to take a dream trip up to the Northeast for my birthday. My partner, pup, and I will camp in our trailer, doing some light hikes and spending a lot of time outside! I would really like to get a spray tan before this trip, but I know between camping, hiking, and being outdoors, this might make it fade quicker. I’ve never gotten a spray tan before, but I haven’t felt like myself much since cancer treatment so I’d love to do it as a gift to myself to celebrate this dream trip! My question is, would getting a spray tan before this trip be useless? How many good days could I realistically get out of the tan? What if I top the tan off with gradual tanner? Thank you! submitted by /u/Extension-Test-99 [link] [comments]
